Head of Club Coaching
St Albans HC Oaklands College Campus, St Albans, Hertfordshire.St Albans HC formed in 1898, is a thriving, friendly and ambitious club, supporting playing, spectating, coaching and officiating activities for all levels and ages. We currently run 18 teams for men and women, with 350+ senior members and 400+ youth members. We also run summer hockey, holiday camps and disability hockey. We are a Talent Certified.
We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Head of Club Coaching to further develop our coaching strategy, lead the development of our adult club members and the youth players playing in the adult teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and delivery of fun and engaging training sessions.
- Supervise and mentor a small group of coaches, ensuring consistency in coaching standards and session flow.
- Bridge the gap for youth players entering adult hockey, ensuring a supportive and developmental environment for all youth players entering adult hockey.
- Implement training programmes in line with the St Albans HC coaching strategy.
- Manage the recruitment of volunteers and paid coaches for Club Training
- Additional coaching offerings: Coordinate the delivery of masterclasses and camps where applicable.
- Manage adult coaching communications including surveys and queries
- Safeguarding: Work with safeguarding lead to ensure best practice
Remuneration: This is a paid role with the opportunity to earn extra through StA PLUS – Adult Masterclasses, Youth Holiday Camps, one-to-one sessions and Coach Education Workshops. Details of which are available on request.
Commitment: Session delivery and coach mentorship on Monday and Wednesday evenings, plus running and coordinating the StA PLUS Adult Masterclasses and the one-to-one/small group booking process.
